When going into production for a movie, you can do everything as perfectly as you want, you can write every piece of dialogue and craft every costume so meticulously, but things will always change by the time the movie is released.

Actors will improvise moments and dialogue, and tweaks will be made in just about every single department, but sometimes there are things that will happen that are just outside of the control of anyone. This was absolutely the case throughout filming Reservoir Dogs.

In the warehouse where the bulk of the movie takes place, the door at the far end that anyone who comes in and out uses reportedly just kept swinging open. There is one scene however, where this happened and the cameras kept rolling.

Harvey Keitel strode across the room mid-conversation with Chris Penn and Michael Madsen, shut the door, and walked back without skipping a single beat. The moment wasn’t planned, but the sheer professionalism and poise of Mr. White meant that this was the take Quentin Tarantino went with for in the final cut.
