When Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice finally hit cinema screens in March this year, critics and fanboys alike were up in arms decrying that the much-anticipated movie didn’t live up to the hype. They should be happy to hear then that the Blu-ray Ultimate Edition is a vast improvement on the disappointing theatrical cut and makes the movie well worth another look.

This is the Batman V Superman that director Zack Snyder wanted moviegoers to see. Featuring an extra 30 minutes of footage, the Ultimate Edition expands on some of the theatrical cut’s more hurried parts and boasts a proper introduction to Jimmy Olsen, the deleted Steppenwolf scene that made the internet rounds earlier this year and even a Jon Stewart cameo. Plus, for those who preferred the movie’s darker tone, the Ultimate Edition is an R-rated version. Mostly because there’s more blood and violence, but it also treats us to a single, solitary F-bomb and a look at Ben Affleck’s bare behind in a shower scene.
