The best card-carrying studio comedy released this year to date, Game Night is a rarest of genre offerings that not only delivers uproarious laughs and makes exceptional use of its talented ensemble, but even serves up a strong technical package in the bargain.

Unquestionably one of the best-shot comedies in years, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein make the action sequences legitimately thrilling while employing impressive tilt-shift cinematography to evoke the look of an actual board game. And let's not forget Cliff Martinez's pulsing electronic score.

Thanks to a sharply hilarious script and a cast firing on all cylinders, Game Night sets a high standard for the rest of the year's comedies.
