17. Green Lantern's Second Chance (Justice League)
The Moment: When Green Lantern (rumoured to be played by Chris Pine this time) gets his second chance at cinematic success after the absolutely dire effort that was Martin Campbell's Ryan Reynolds-starring 2011 effort. When It Will Happen: Lantern will show up in at least one of the Justice League movies, and of course has his own solo movie tentatively scheduled for a June 2020 release. Smartly, it's the last film on the packed DCCU slate at the moment, so Warner have nine other movies before it to figure things out and get a standalone Lantern film right. Why It Will Define The Movie(s): Fans are already skeptical about another go-around on a character Warner completely blew the first time, so it's really make or break this time: after all, he probably won't get a third chance. If Lantern sucks, then fans won't soon forget, but if they can find a way to insert such a challenging-to-adapt character into the central Justice League story and then build his own world in the solo movie more convincingly this time, they'll win over a lot of jaded fans.
