18. Kryptonite Makes Its DCCU Debut (Batman V Superman)
The Moment: Kryptonite, which was conspicuously absent from Man of Steel, makes its first appearance in the DC Cinematic Universe in one form or another, likely given to Batman by Lex Luthor in order to help him fight Superman. When It Will Happen: The second act of the movie, when the alliance between them is probably formed, ahead of Bats' and Supes' first battle, of course. Why It Will Define The Movie: Because Kryptonite is such an iconic staple of Superman lore, and it will easily explain to more casual fans how Batman stands a snowball's chance in hell of actually taking Superman on, by sufficiently weakening him so that it's a fair(er) fight.
