20 Moments That Will Define Upcoming DC Movies

15. Dwayne Johnson As Black Adam (Shazam)

The Moment: Dwayne Johnson's induction into the DCCU as Black Adam, the super-smart, super-strong enemy of superhero Shazam, who will nevertheless become an anti-hero in this interpretation of the iconic character. When It Will Happen: Though Johnson agreed to play Black Adam long before the DCCU was even a consideration (when a standalone Shazam movie was on the cards), he still won't be able to play the character until April 2019's Shazam movie. However, there have already been talks about Black Adam eventually introduced into the core Justice League line-up, something Johnson himself is super stoked about. Why It Will Define The Movie(s): Johnson has proven in the Fast and Furious franchise in particular that his enormous charisma has tremendous audience appeal, and so he's practically tailor-made for the larger-than-life world of a comic book movie. He typically plays heroic characters rather than villains, so it would make sense that Johnson would take the anti-hero approach to Black Adam, and to see him forging an unlikely alliance with the likes of Batman and Superman down the road, most likely in a third Justice League movie (assuming it happens), would truly be an awesome sight indeed.
