20 Recent Movies That Ruined INCREDIBLE Plots

13. Insidious: Out of the Further

It's completely baffling that it took six Insidious movies for the franchise to finally toy with the idea of the dark dimension known as The Further bleeding into our own world, but with Insidious: Out of the Further they finally did it.

It's by far the most fascinating premise of any Insidious movie to date, and yet you'd hardly know it considering the snoozily by-the-book treatment it's given here.

The Further colliding with our own dimension should feel like an Event, and yet so much of the movie is simply an unimaginative echo of set-pieces from other, better horror films, along with more than a few lurches into unintentional goofiness.

It's just so abundantly clear that the Insidious franchise is totally out of juice at this point, and it's really only their inability to flop at the box office - per their low budgets - that's keeping them chugging along.
