20 Summer 2018 Films You Aren't Excited About (But Should Be)

15. I Feel Pretty

Trainwreck Amy Schumer
Universal

Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, screenwriter duo behind Never Been Kissed, He's Just Not That Into You and How To Be Single, make their feature debut as directors on this comedy starring Amy Schumer.

The comedy star plays an average, insecure woman who suffers a head injury and suddenly thinks she's the most beautiful woman alive, leaving her flush with new-found confidence. Sounds rather like an inversion of the Gwyneth Paltrow/Jack Black/Farrelly Brothers comedy Shallow Hal.

Given Schumer has tended to specialise in rather edgy, R-rated humour, it'll be interesting to see how she fares working with the typically more mainstream-friendly Kohn and Silverstein. Michelle Williams and Emily Ratajkowski co-star.

Release: 29th June US, 6th July UK.

Ben Bussey hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
