7. Jurassic Park's Water Ripples

Steven Spielberg's dinosaur blockbuster is full of cool special effects, with some early CGI actually still holding up pretty well, and the animatronics they used for many of the raptors and the T-Rex frequently freaking out both cast and crew on set. One of the coolest little weird tricks they used in Jurassic Park, though, was getting the water to ripple perfectly in the scene when the latter dino's escape becomes clear: they didn't just stomp around outside the car or anything. To get the precise vibrations they wanted, they stuck a guitar string to the dashboard and carefully plucked it.
