Walter Soo Hoo appeared in several episodes of The Original Series, though as a background extra, meaning we never got to hear him speak. He first appeared in the very first televised episode - The Man Trap - going for a lovely stroll through the corridors of the Enterprise. He next appeared as a technician on Janus VI, trying to stay out of the way of the Horta. He last appeared then as a Kohm guard in the Vietnam allegory The Omega Glory.

He acted in many television series and films before moving on to open Chinatown's Hop Louie restaurant in 1985. His last acting credit came in 2007, when he appeared in the Jim Carrey and Virginia Madsen-starring movie The Number 23.

He died at age 90, leaving behind his wife Eileen, to whom he had been married for 70 years.
