35 Star Trek Actors Who Died In 2022

6. Robert Brown

Star Trek Robert Brown
CBS

Robert Brown appeared as both Lazarus and his counterpart in the Original Series episode The Alternative Factor. Reviews of the episode were not kind, however, there is a mitigating circumstance here - to say that Brown had no warning is an understatement. He was a last-minute replacement, at the behest of William Shatner, for John Drew Barrymore, who had failed to show on the first day of shooting. Brown, with whom Shatner had appeared in an earlier pilot, was unceremoniously thrown into the part.

He would appear in several of the biggest shows of the day, including Wagon Train. He would also have another impact on Star Trek, though admittedly this one was tangential. Robert Lansing, who would later guest star as Gary Seven in the episode Assignment: Earth, was actually named Robert Brown. However, due to Brown's work, Lansing was prohibited by the Screen Actor's Guild from using that name.

Brown died at age 95, in Ojai, California.
