Marva Hicks was an American R&B/Soul singer who appeared as Tuvok's wife T'Pel in Star Trek: Voyager. She released a self-titled album in 1991 under Polydor records, as well as appearing alongside many, many other artists.

She was initially a Gospel singer, and her single Never Been In Love Before gained her recognition in the charts. She sang a duet with Michael Jackson, taking the female part of I Just Can't Stop Loving You, in a performance honouring the birthday of the Sultan of Brunei. On screen, she appeared in Mad About You, as well as Sister, Sister, and then later as Principal Jacara in One Life To Live.

She crossed over with Babylon 5 as well, appearing in the episode And The Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place. She played, fittingly, a singer, performing the track There's No Hiding Place Down Here.

She died in New York City at age 66.
