5 Awesome Bond Themes and 5 That Sucked

3. Another Way To Die (Quantum of Solace)

http://youtu.be/hM5UJvnbbuY This song, written by Jack White, and sung by White and Alicia Keys, employs the classic Bond theme as well as White€™s dirty distorted guitar playing. The lyrics are fraught with images of spies looking behind their shoulders and around corners in an effort to postpone their imminent demise. This song also holds the distinction of being the only male/female co-lead singing effort. Even though a female voice typically means the song drips with lust for the British secret agent, there isn€™t as much sexiness in this song as there could be. We do have one great line from Keys: €œAnother one with a golden tongue poisoning your fantasy.€ But that€™s the extent of it. Don€™t blame Keys considering Jack White wrote the song. Element of Danger: +9 Probably the most dangerous song in 007€™s musical arsenal. Just look at the title. The Ladies: +3 We have a female singer, but we get very little sense of how much she wants get it on with our hero. Cool Factor: +6 This song€™s cool, but there€™s a weird call and response solo break, which is decidedly neither cool nor classy. Why didn€™t it rank higher? The tempo€™s a little fast for a slinking bond theme, and Jack White€™s style is so distinct that even with the addition of Keys, this sounds like a Raconteurs cut.
