5 That Sucked...
5. Dominic Greene
While Quantum of Solace is, generally speaking, nowhere near as bad as people like to suggest, it did suffer from a weak, completely forgettable villain. Part of the problem is that the film is so personal and intimate, that the villain is far from the main attraction, and so Mathieu Amalric who is nevertheless poorly cast isnt really given a lot to work with as Dominic Greene. Amalric is a fine actor in his own right, but not at all suited to a man meant to be visceral and terrifying; his small stature doesnt at all make him imposing, and he doesnt really muster the necessary menace owing more to the script than anything to make him a formidable foe. The only thing keeping him from dropping lower is his pretty awesome death; Bond leaves him stranded in the dessert with only a canister of engine oil, making for one of the most hilariously cruel dispatches of a villain in the entire series.
