5 Ways The Harry Potter Franchise Could Be Expanded Even Further
3. VR Experience
2016 saw a huge surge in the release of virtual reality technology, with companies left, right and centre rushing to get products into a rapidly growing market. Overnight, it seemed like every mobile phone contract was suddenly bundled with a VR device, whilst Sony have invested a great deal in their Playstation VR headset.
The general consensus on VR games so far seems to be that they are impressive, but somewhat underwhelming when it comes to length or replayability. That may change in time as developers and customers embrace the technology further, but there is always the potential that it could become a passing fad like 3D or motion sensitive gaming did.
Developing an experience around a property as gargantuan as Harry Potter could be a gamechanger, however, as customers may be attracted to VR by the brand name much more than the technology behind it.
This would probably be the case even if such an experience was a relatively barebones affair, such as simply allowing individuals to cast magic and duel in their own living rooms to begin with.
