It's a sad state of affairs when one of the coolest moments in a Terminator movie is a crude CGI mock-up of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Largely due to his duties as Governor of California, Arnie wasn't available for Salvation, but he gave his blessing for his likeness to be used, leading to this scene near the end of the movie in which John faces off against the classic T-800 model. Of course, because the filmmakers were likely aware that the effects didn't really stand up to scrutiny, Arnie's faces gets blasted off after about a minute, which is kind of a relief. Sure, it's a fun moment, but the effects haven't aged well at all, even just six years after release.
13. Zero Human Casualties - Terminator 2: Judgment Day
So, how do you make the hero look totally bada** while facing off against police officers who, in fairness, are just doing their jobs? You have him take the non-lethal route, though going by the amount of mini-gun fire the T-800 unleashes, it's truly amazing that nobody caught a stray bullet, and given how many cop cars explode, how nobody was caught by some shrapnel or something, Yes, the Terminator can calculate these things down to the finest possibility, but even so, there's always the incalculable fluke accident. The T-800 then takes his assault one step further by crippling an entire SWAT team with a tear-gas grenade launcher, and though they might all need wheelchairs for the rest of their lives, they didn't die, so it's all good, right?
