7 Big Questions About The Deadpool Film

6. Can Ryan Reynolds Atone For His Previous Sins?

Hollywood clearly seemed obsessed with getting Ryan Reynolds into a successful comic book role. They tried (and failed) with Green Lantern. They tried (and failed) with Deadpool. While it is not yet confirmed, it is highly likely that Reynolds will reprise his portrayal of Wade Wilson. While we try not to judge an actor by his past performances (even Ben Affleck with Batman and Daredevil), Reynolds has starred in some truly terrible comic book adaptations. X-Men Origins: Wolverine gave us a tiny taste of Deadpool. At the start of the film we could see the traits of Deadpool in Wade Wilson, but by the end of the film we were wishing that they had not tried to introduce the character to the X-Men spin off. Green Lantern gave us a film with a vacuous gap where the plot should have been, and showed us why studios should steer clear of overly relying on CGI. Reynolds€™ certainly has the potential to star as a remarkable Deadpool. He has the comedic ability and the ability to perform some intense action scenes. Nobody doubts that, but we are still hesitant to give the actor another shot at conquering the comic book movie arena.
