8 Exact Decisions That Doomed Horror Movie Protagonists

1. Benefit Of The Doubt - Aaron "Creep"

Creep 2014
Blumhouse Productions

This found footage flick is an immaculately crafted film from start to finish, and what makes it even more impressive is Mark Duplass' and Patrick Brice's ability to hold the attention of the audience despite only having the two men onscreen for the entire movie and never introducing any more characters.

This onscreen dynamic is to die for and reaches a true precipice in the film's final act. It is abundantly clear that Mark Duplass' character Joseph is a strange individual, and that he has an unhealthy obsession with Aaron (Brice). Joseph gives Aaron multiple reasons not to trust him, and this is only further solidified by his increasingly unnerving behaviour even after Aaron leaves Joseph's house, which should have spelled the end of the filmmaker's discomforting ordeal.

After receiving threatening items in the mail from Joseph, for some reason Aaron still decides to give his odd counterpart benefit of the doubt and entertains him when Joseph asks for the two to meet in a public place, which in theory should have secured Aaron's safety. However, this decision of Aaron to still go and see Joseph is fatal, and ends with an axe being struck firmly through his head as the audience can do nothing but watch in horror from a camera Aaron sets up from inside of his car.
