1. The Batman Could Lead To A Penguin Movie
The Batman is another upcoming DC blockbuster that Warner Bros is interested in expanding, and like with The Suicide Squad, the expansions have already begun.
A TV series revolving around the Gotham City Police Department is in the works for HBO Max, but away from the small screen, Warner Bros is thinking about spinning off the Caped Crusader's universe cinematically, should The Batman be a success.
In a report from November 2019, Variety noted that several of the movie's cast members have contract options to appear in future DC movies, but more tantalising is the studio's belief that villains such as Riddler, Penguin, and Catwoman could potentially lead their own solo spinoffs, depending on their reception in The Batman.
Considering that 2019's Joker - which was completely standalone, away from the DCEU - won Oscars, and made a billion dollars, it's not terribly surprising that Warner Bros seems to have an eye on replicating that success with other villains.
And let's face it, it won't be too difficult to top the 2004 Catwoman movie, will it?
