8 Times MCU Trailers Showed Way Too Much

6. Abomination & Wong - Shang-Chi & The Legend Of The Ten Rings

Different characters crossing over from franchise to franchise, and not showing up where you would necessarily expect them to is all part of the fun in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This has happened throughout the entire franchise, including in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

The titular character was joined by Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery, a character not seen since 2013’s Iron Man 3. This was ALMOST a genuine surprise, ruined only by the fact Ben Kinglsey himself attended the movie’s premiere, which kind of gave the game away. There were also two other established MCU characters that appeared, namely Wong, and the Abomination, who hadn’t graced Marvel screens for over a decade.

The meeting between these two in the underground fighting tournament was shown during the movie’s trailer, but why? No one was going to see Shang-Chi for a cameo from Wong and Blonsky, though it would have made for a fun surprise in the cinemas.

There wasn’t much more to their respective cameos than what was shown already in the trailer, though Wong did appear in the post-credit scene, but it does beg the question, what did Marvel Studios gain from including this scene other than spoiling a cool moment in the movie?
