9 Actors Who Played Both Iconic Super Heroes And Villains

2. Scarlett Johansson - Black Widow / Silken Floss

She may not be a god or have any superpowers - apart from kicking people in the face - but Black Widow is still an essential part of The Avengers. The role finally made Johansson into the movie star she always threatened to become, and she took to the role so easily it’s hard to imagine anyone else playing it. She stole the show in The Winter Soldier and often helped ground Age of Ultron amid the bloat and explosions.

She didn’t fare quite so well with The Spirit, but to be fair nobody did. It seems the only direction Frank Miller gave his leading ladies – which included Eva Mendes and Paz Vega – was to “look hot.” While the movie achieved that goal it didn’t leave the actors much to work with, and Johansson feels pretty wooden in the role of Silken Floss; having to repeat such leaden dialogue didn’t help.

In the battle between Natasha Romanoff and Silken Floss (there must be creepy fanart of that somewhere online), Black Widow definitely wins the day. Now, where’s that solo movie, Marvel?

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
