For an actor with a truly staggering amount of credits, it was only a matter of time before Sam Jackson popped up in a comic book movie. He’s currently the hardest working actor in the MCU, having appeared in most of their movies and Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D playing the badass Nick Fury.

It’s true that in most of his appearances he’s either spouting exposition or sitting down, but he adds weight to proceedings, and when he talks the audience listens. On the flipside, he got to unleash his inner Bond villain with Kingsman: The Secret Service, where he played a megalomaniac who wants to destroy most of the human race so only the best and brightest survive.

Based on a Mark Millar graphic novel the movie was a fresh, funny take on the old Bond movies, and Jackson was clearly having a lot of fun playing the lisping maniac. He also had fun playing The Octopus in Frank Miller’s The Spirit; too bad nobody else was.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
