For a forgotten blockbuster Casper sure managed to sneak in a lot of big name cameos, including Clint Eastwood and Mel Gibson. The one everybody will remember – those people who remember Casper anyway – is Dan Aykroyd running out of the house dressed in his Ghostbuster costume.

He’s chased out by the evil ghosts and comes bounding down the front steps, only pausing to recommend they call someone else for help. His cameo even seems somewhat official, since his name is clearly seen printed on his uniform.

His cameo is sad in a way as it was technically the last time one of the original Ghostbusters would appear on film, since any attempt to get a third film going was immediately slapped down by Bill Murray’s complete lack of interest. Still, if the new reboot manages to be funnier than Casper - which isn’t a high bar to jump over - then it can claim some kind of victory.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
