9 Most Brutal Acts Of Revenge In Star Wars

1. The Destruction Of Alderaan - A New Hope

A tad petty, sure, but the destruction of Alderaan was an act of revenge from the Empire.

Firstly, the call was made to target Alderaan as a way to make a major statement against the growing Rebel Alliance and the increasing confidence beginning to swell amongst the ranks of those Rebels. Secondly, the destruction of Alderaan was also the perfect - if not skewed - revenge on Leia Organa for her disobedience in refusing to assist the Empire in its maniacal quest to further conquer the galaxy.

To be honest, the obliteration of Alderaan was all part of a d*ck measuring contest for the Empire - with Grand Moff Tarkin wiping the planet out of existence merely to show how powerful a world-destroying weapon the Death Star was.

Still, when it comes to brutal acts, few Star Wars scenes see as brutal an act as wiping out a planet and its entire population. And there's at least some semblance of revenge for the Empire in blowing up Alderaan, with this being a way to stick it to the Rebel Alliance who have had the cheek to not give the Empire an easy ride in its mission for galactic dominance.
