6. King Richard - November 19th
No, this isn't yet another Kenneth Branagh adaptation of Shakespeare's Richard III, surprisingly.
It's the story of Richard Williams, father of all star tennis players Venus and Serena Williams.
Richard himself will be played by Will Smith, and the story will chart Richard's coaching of the two young tennis players, as a look into how the two superstars became the players they are today.
The film also stars Saniyya Sidney as Venus and Demi Singleton as Serena. Sidney has previously starred in Fences and hidden figures, so is more than used to tackling big budget stories like this one promises to be.
Jon Bernthal is also in the film as Rick Macci, a tennis coach and former player who is the youngest player ever to be inducted into the USPTA Hall of Fame.
Given the relatively shaky run of performances Will Smith has put in recently (read: Aladdin, Gemini Man, etc.) a touching biopic about two of sport's biggest stars today might be just the thing he needs to revitalise his career as a serious actor.
If you're a tennis fan, you'll no doubt LOVE this film. It'll be totally ACE. It may even get you into the streaming RACKET. Ok, that's enough.
