Ant-Man: 8 Actors Who Could Play Young Hank Pym

6. Joel Edgerton

After first coming into the geek conscious as the young Owen Lars in 2002's Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, could Joel Edgerton be one of the front-runners to play the young Hank Pym in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man? Since his brief turn as the young Uncle Owen, Edgerton's stock has been firmly on the rise, starring in the likes of Warrior, Zero Dark Thirty and The Great Gatsby, not to mention 2011's take on The Thing. Having built quite the reputation for himself so far, is Edgerton now ready to take the step up to such a large role as Hank Pym? This isn't the only Marvel name that Edgerton has been suggested for, though, with Marvel Studios apparently showing interest in the actor for the role of Doctor Strange. Most definitely an outside choice for the young Pym, if given the opportunity Edgerton could really shine in the rumoured 1960s-set introduction to Pym as Ant-Man. Whether he's afforded that opportunity, that's the big question.
