Aquaman Final Trailer Reactions: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

4. Not Enough Black Manta

After the previous five-minute extended trailer offered up a lengthy glimpse of Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) causing trouble for Aquaman in a delirious single-take set-piece, there's curious little of the fan favourite villain in the final trailer.

We see some recycled footage of him suited up and causing mayhem, and some new images of him appearing out of a submersible, presumably on Atlantis, but that's pretty much it.

This likely confirms rumours that Black Manta's going to be a relatively minor character in the movie, being kept in the periphery as a B-villain so that he can become the primary antagonist in Aquaman 2 (assuming it happens, of course).

Still, after his technically astonishing depiction in the previous trailer, this felt a little lacking in Black Manta hype and chaos. Simply, don't be expecting him to have anything more than an intermittent supporting role and be pleasantly surprised if it's anything more.
