Avatar: The Last Airbender - 7 Things That Need To Be In The Live Action Series

1. Well Written “Filler” Episodes

A show is only ever as good as its "filler" episodes. Which is why Avatar is considered by many fans as one of the greatest animated series of all time. From Uncle Iroh’s back story to Appa’s adventure away from Aang, the original series knew how to keep you invested even when the episode didn’t move the plot forward.

In all honesty, to call them "filler" is a disservice to their quality. They are more than a way to stretch the series to twenty episodes. These are the episodes that help you understand the characters in a way we wouldn't without them.

They are also a must watch, if you skip them you may be just a bit confused when Zuko randomly shows up at Aang's door, apologizes for the way he's been acting, and ask if he could have the honor of teaching Aang firebending. That would seem completely out of the blue and unexplainable without the character development episodes.

It should also be mentioned that a lot of the time the character development epsiodes are the ones that are typically nominated for awards.
