Avengers: Infinity War - 23 WTF Moments

3. Wait, Is This King's Cross Station?

So, what exactly was going on when Thanos clicked his fingers and was temporarily transported to the mysterious red-skied world where he met little Gamora again?

Were we supposed to think this was the Soul World and Thanos was being transported there to seed him regretting clicking everyone out of existence? Did he die temporarily? Was this limbo? Wasn't this all a little close to the King's Cross sequence when Harry Potter "dies" at the end of The Deathly Hallows?

Obviously, there's some symbolism in there, but the exact meaning of that sequence ends up being a little garbled. If it is the Soul World, it might explain how the dead have a way back, but it would have been nice for a little more establishing work to confirm it actually exists.
