2. The Ending Is A Bit Silly

For all of the great work that goes into setting up the pay-off that Arkham's administator Dr Chares Cavendish is behind the riots rather than just The Joker, the actual finale itself is a little on the bizarre side.

Channelling Psycho, Morrison has Batman discover Cavendish dressed in a bridal gown in the higher reaches of Arkham, where he reveals he's carrying on the work of Amadeus Arkham, who killed his traumatized mother and then lost his mind when his wife and daughter were raped and murdered.

In light of the haunting backstory, having the Psycho like wedding dress element is flat-out silliness, and you'd have to be concerned how that would translate on the big screen.
