Batman: 8 Reasons Affleck Must Make Arkham Asylum (& 3 He Shouldn't)
6. The Graphic Novel Is Incredible
Just as Zack Snyder's attempt to adapt The Dark Knight Returns came from a good place, the idea of using a truly great source comic as a foundation for Affleck's Batman makes perfect sense.
Arkham Asylum isn't just ones of the finest Batman arcs, or Grant Morrison's best work, it's also easily among the finest superhero publications there has ever been. It is as recognisable to fans as titles like The Killing and The Dark Knight Returns, and Warner Bros will be able to count on established brand appeal already should they choose to adapt it.
There are some slight story issues (Batman navigates some of the perils within the Asylum a little too easily), but this dizzying, brilliant journey through the psyche of Batman is as close to flawless as the exalted company it is usually ranked alongside.
