Batman V Superman: 9 Major Concerns From The New Trailer

1. The Trailer - Somehow - Kills All Anticipation, Mystery & Excitement In One Fell Swoop

Before the arrival of this new trailer, Warner Bros.' marketing campaign for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice was something to be admired. They'd unveiled a fair amount of footage, but most of it succeed in teasing the general atmosphere and look of the film; there wasn't all that much dialogue or plot - just vague hints at the overall direction. It was enough to get you pumped and excited for the movie. Then along comes this highly unnecessary trailer, which - in one fell swoop - only succeeds in doing one thing: decreasing excitement levels. Seriously, is there anyone who - having seen this trailer - is more eager to see the movie? Not only does it show way too much and shed light on a number of questionable inclusions (as discussed in this article), it drains out all the tension and darkness to be associated with a story of this kind. Having seen this trailer, Batman V Superman feels like a considerably less thrilling movie, doesn't it? All of its secrets have been revealed, so to speak, and so the mystery factor that would have drawn people to the theatre has been killed. You feel like you've watched the movie, seen what it has to offer, and can estimate how the final product will turn out. Worst of all, it's a trailer that changes the way you felt about the other trailers, which will therefore automatically change people's perceptions of the movie, too. Search the internet: "I don't know how to feel now" seems to be the most common response to it. Warner Bros. could have made a crucial error here; the cost of unveiling this trailer could be huge.
