20 INSANE Horror Sequels We Almost Got

3. We're Wolves

What We Do in the Shadows

Horror-comedy mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows received rave reviews and performed well at the box office back in 2014, enough that filmmakers Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement soon enough announced a sequel was in development.

As its hilarious title suggests, We're Wolves was set to focus on the werewolf pack briefly featured in the original film, led by Rhys Darby's Anton.

Beyond that little information is known, but frankly the appeal of taking the original mock-doc format and transplanting it onto a group of werewolves sells itself.

But development has been slow enough that most seem to believe Waititi and Clement will never get around to making it.

Back in 2022 Waititi confirmed that he, Clement, and Darby still wanted to make We're Wolves, though intimated that he and Clement were kept so busy with other projects that they'd never gotten around to writing it.

Considering that Waititi in particular is never without a new project on the horizon, it sadly feels like the time for this one to get made has long passed.
