Captain America: Civil War - 10 Great Comic Moments We Won’t Get To See

9. Final Battle In New York City

The Great Moment: While the climactic showdown between the two sides starts to unfold in the Negative Zone, Cloak teleports nearly everyone to the heart of New York City for its conclusion. It’s in these streets that Steve and Tony have their final showdown and the war is finally ended.

Why We Won’t Get To See It: As good as this fight was in the comics, The Avengers already did it. That film already used New York City to stage an alien invasion and the city played a key role in the finale. To reuse such a setting would feel both repetitive and open Civl War up to comparisons with The Avengers.

Moreover, the trailers give no indication of any action taking place in New York. There looks to be some Germany and Wakanda, but with all of the trailers and TV spots, if New York was going to play a crucial role in the climax, it no doubt would have been shown to us by now.

Instead, judging by those same trailers, the final set piece looks to take place on an airfield, and not a crowded city street.
