Captain America: Civil War - 11 Things That Definitely Won't Happen

7. Spider-Man Unmasked

The most infamous shot from Civil War's comic panels, aside from Cap lying prone in its aftermath, is of Spider-Man taking his mask off after Tony Stark convinces him of its significance to the cause. Unfortunately for fans wanting to see it recaptured on screen, the moment requires Spider-Man to be an established figure. At this stage, he's only been teased in passing, and the general public aren't generally aware of his existence or importance. Unmasking him at this stage would rob the moment of any impact at all. The Alternative Who knows. The decision to unmask a superhero is a very big deal for the comic arc, but aside from Spider-Man, there's no-one else on Iron Man's team who can actually unmask wit any kind of symbolism. There's an outside chance it could be Black Panther, but again, he's not established yet, and his secret identity doesn't carry the same weight, given that his "costume" is part of his ceremonial status. There's a high likelihood that no hero will be unmasked at all: the Accords don't have the same focus on the danger of secret identities as the Registration Act in the comics. They seem instead to seek control and definition over when it's morally right to introduce them to a battle (so it's a weapons of mass destruction story, in essence), so it's not entirely appropriate to unmask anyone.
