Captain America Civil War: Predicting The Entire Plot In 10 Steps

7. Assassination Attempt On Tony / Bucky Framed

Things can€™t stay nice for long in a film called Civil War, so surely something massive will occur shortly after Spidey's glamorous unveiling. Tony €“ perhaps at the same public event where Spidey has unmasked €“ will be the victim of an assassination attempt. The assassin will look like Bucky Barnes, although it might actually be a HYDRA agent in one of those snazzy face-changing masks. Tony will only narrowly survive, but a lot of other people will die (could HYDRA have planted another bomb?). Soon, Cap and Falcon track down the real Bucky, wearing the same red shirt as the fake Bucky that tried to kill Tony. HYDRA has him trapped in a vice (as fans have already seen in the Ant-Man post credits sting) and have leaked his location. HYDRA are trying to frame Bucky, although their exact motivations for this won€™t be clear at this point. Cap wants proof that this is the real Bucky, so asks if he remembers him. Bucky talks about Steve€™s mum, and the fact that he used to wear newspapers in his shoes. Convinced, but unwilling to ask the government for help, Cap and Falcon will call in Ant-Man to help them shrink Bucky down and extract him from the vice. Paul Rudd€™s Scott Lang will geek out at the opportunity to team up with Cap, offering some comic relief in an otherwise very serious scene. Bucky insists that he €˜doesn€™t do that anymore€™, referring to the assassination attempt/bomb attack. Cap believes him, but tells Bucky that the people that think he did it are on their way to get him. And they aren€™t planning to take him alive. Bucky, Cap, Falcon and maybe even Ant-Man will fight the soldiers that arrive, before Bucky jumps out a window and escapes.
