Chris Nolan's Movies Ranked Worst To Best

4. Interstellar

Interstellar Matthew McConaughey Mackenzie Foy

To open this segement with a bang - without a doubt, Interstellar is Christopher Nolan's most beautiful film by a clear, country mile! The vastness of space is captured so perfectly here that none of the other film's can defeat it on these terms.

The music, which for some can be a little overbearing (one reviewer described it as Hans Zimmer falling asleep on his organ) compliments the enormity of the project that these explorers are taking on. Nolan manages to capture not just the intensity of the mission, but the smaller moments as well, heightened by a phenomenal theme.

It is not a perfect film and much as been said about the tesseract scene at the end. Though there is a fairness to some of the critique, the scene is also a stunning representation of the love between father and daughter, captured throughout moments in time. Matthew McConaughey delivers a slam dunk performance as Cooper, travelling billions of miles to try and get back to his daughter.

There is a gaff in the title of course (they don't actually travel between stars) but the criticisms of this film are light. It is one of Nolan's most potent and emotional stories, told against the canvass of the stars.
