DCEU: 10 Mistakes Warner Bros. Has Made With Its DC Slate
6. Everything About Wonder Woman 1984, Apparently
The plot for Wonder Woman 1984 has leaked online, and it sounds terrible. As well as some of the issues we've alluded to, it appears as if director Patty Jenkins' decision to tell a standalone tale set in the past has resulted in this being a throwaway adventure which has no major impact on the hero.
There's nothing in there as powerful as the No Man's Land scene in the first movie, while much of this tale - such as the Amazon Warrior launching an attack on the White House - directly contradicts what we've previously heard about her being in hiding until Doomsday attacked. Oh, and if you think Steve Trevor's apparent return to the land of the living means anything, you would be sorely mistaken.
The story isn't the only mistake Warner Bros. has made with Wonder Woman 1984, though. Warner Bros. is insistent that it's going to receive a theatrical release, hence why it's been pushed from June to August. It should have just debuted on VOD platforms at a time we need entertainment at home, but the studio is looking at having it play in cinemas at a time which could still be very dangerous.
