Every Adam Sandler Movie Ranked By How Punchable Adam Sandler Is
20. Happy Gilmore
Happy Gilmore has been criticized by fans of "smart" comedy for hammering away at one joke for 90 minutes. (That joke being that the typically easygoing Happy can get super violent at the drop of a hat.) But when that one joke is delivered with this kind of visceral enthusiasm, it's hard not to fall for it every time.
Besides, unlike most of Sandler's movies where he plays an immature, self-pitying knucklehead, here he's doing it for a good cause - helping his grandmother get her house back. Also, he routinely gets his comeuppance when he acts like a wang, whether it be from his nemesis Shooter McGavin or from a punch-happy Bob Barker.
So any thoughts of blasting Sandler in the face are quickly washed away by all of the wish fulfillment happening on screen.
Punch Level: Replaying Barker's epic right cross on a loop.
