Every James Bond Girl Ranked From Worst To Best

39. Tatiana Romanova - From Russia With Love

James Bond Girls Ranked
United Artists

From Russia with Love might be one of the best Bond films of them all, but the one thing it really screwed up was the main Bond Girl.

In stark contrast to Dr No's female lead, the legendary Honey Ryder, Tatiana Romanova (Daniele Bianchi) is totally mediocre. She's not awful or anything, but there's just nothing interesting to say about her at all and she's a distracting flaw in a mostly masterful thriller.

Tatiana Romanova is a Russian agent who Spectre agent Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya) recruits in her plan to steal a decoding device and assassinate Bond. Essentially, she's instructed to act as bait for Bond and is therefore another Bond Girl who feels more like a plot device than a character.

Just like most of these early Bond Girls, she's nothing more than eye-candy for Bond to rescue from danger. She gets to shoot Rosa Klebb at the end, but other than that she's a bore with no real character development or agency.
