Every Terminator Movie & Show Ranked Worst To Best

6. Terminator Salvation

It says a lot about Terminator Salvation that the single most enduring memory attached to it is of Christian Bale's on-set meltdown that was so unfortunately recorded and passed on to a voracious media.

It's a shame too, because Salvation isn't entirely without merit. There are actually some really good ideas in there, it's just that the way it's all put together that's the problem. It held promise, of course, as we'd wanted to see an actual war movie pitting humanity against the machines, but the film is weirdly soulless.

It comes down to the writing more than anything and it's another of those morality tales about too many cooks, given how much rewriting went on. That's why shoe-horned nostalgia references take the place of actual character development and why the story bridging lacks flow.
