Fantastic Beasts: 10 Potential Harry Potter Spinoffs We'd Rather See

We all know that Professor McGonagall is ten shades of awesome - common knowledge, right? But not everyone is aware of the backstory that JK Rowling has lovingly crafted for the Hogwarts matriarch. They just see her as the strict but caring head of Gryffindor house, a woman capable of shaming you into obedience with the mere raise of an eyebrow, and a genuinely badass witch in her own right.

But I'm here to tell you, she's so much more than that. Go investigate McGonagall's backstory, then try to tell me that it doesn't deserve to be a major motion picture.

She's one of those characters who seems to have come out of the womb crotchety and middle-aged (much like her namesake, actually, who sprouted out of her father's head one day, fully grown). So it's interesting to think about what she would have been like as a young woman, or even as a child.
