10. Some Ideas Never Made It Into The Movies
After starring in over 30 films, Godzilla has done almost everything you could think of. The character has been depicted as a villain, a hero, and a father. He has fought armies, monsters, dinosaurs, robots, and aliens.
However, there were a lot of other ideas devised for the movies that never saw the light of day. Monsters were planned but never came to fruition. Entire movies were scrapped.
For example, the first American remake was supposed to be released in 1994 and would have Godzilla battle a winged beast called the Gryphon. This creature was also meant to appear in the 1998 and 2014 version of Godzilla.
Godzilla's nemesis, Ghidorah, is easy to recognise due to his three heads and golden body. But in his original design, Ghidorah had purple scales and rainbow-coloured wings.
The 2014 film was supposed to begin with the titular character being found in a glacier. This was changed when the filmmakers saw Man of Steel had a similar scene where Superman finds a Kryptonian ship buried in ice.
The producers wanted Godzilla to die and be replaced with his son during the millennium but this idea never materialised.
