5. Its Still About The Character
In 1995, Sylvester Stallone and Rob Schneider starred in a Judge Dredd adaptation which went against the character, folded in its hands, and lost a lot of the fun of the comic book. Also, Stallone took off his helmet, something Dredd never did, which instantly turned the movie from a Judge Dredd film into a Stallone vehicle. Karl Urbans take last year was much more respectful and both the character and the helmet stayed together throughout the movie, and they ended up making a true Dredd film. At this point in the Marvel film universe, the last thing anybody needs is someone trying to change the character, and Chris Pratt, as evidenced with his other roles, wont do that, which makes the choice of him great as he will play Star-Lord, and not Chris Pratt.
