Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special: 10 Songs It Must Include

5. Please Come Home For Christmas - Eagles

"Please Come Home for Christmas" was written by Charles Brown in 1960 and has since been covered by many different artists including The Eagles in the late 1970s. Their version peaked at number 18 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Much like Queen and Elton John, The Eagles are still yet to appear on any version of the Awesome Mixtapes made by Peter Quill and his mother before he was taken from Earth in the late 1980s. Best known for their smash hit single "Hotel California" in 1976, Star-Lord would for sure be familiar with this rock band. The song is chilled out and would perfectly suit a reflective point in the film after the madness of Christmas is closely over.

Since Christmas is firmly connected with family, it's more than likely that we will see a scene where Peter Quill is thinking back to this childhood Christmases back on Earth with his mother. It's not difficult to imagine how such a track would match the mood in that kind of scene.
