20 Upcoming Movies That Have Already WON

At this point in time it would be very difficult to have much interest at all in a new Exorcist movie, if not for the fact that The Exorcist: Martyrs is being written and directed by one of the finest horror auteurs working today, Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep, The Haunting of Hill House).

Though The Exorcist franchise hasn't delivered a genuinely good entry since Exorcist III way back in 1990, Flanagan's penchant for melding emotional storytelling with tightly wound scares makes him a perfect choice to reinvigorate the dusty IP.

And it doesn't hurt at all that Flanagan has assembled an incredible ensemble cast, with Scarlett Johansson leading a roster also including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jacobi Jupe, Sasha Calle, Hamish Linklater, Carl Lumbly, John Gallagher Jr., Carla Gugino, John Leguizamo, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne.

Needless to say, if Flanagan of all people can't successfully revive The Exorcist, we should probably consider it a dead IP once and for all.
