Jigsaw Review: 3 Ups & 7 Downs

3. The Terrible Editing & Pacing

Jigsaw Logan
Lionsgate

Even though Jigsaw clocks in at a svelte 92 minutes, it still feels like a slog at times, in large part due to the horrendous pacing, with the script frequenting darting back-and-forth between the traps and Detective Halloran's investigation of the new Jigsaw crimes, even though the latter is extremely uninteresting.

Oddly enough, the film even cuts back to the investigation mid-trap on more than one occasion, which undercuts any potential suspense and again feels like Lionsgate attempting to push the series further away from its torture porn label by focusing less on the traps themselves.

The script unfortunately believes that the talky thriller narrative is much more interesting than it actually is, making a good half of the film feel almost unbearably snoozy at times.
