Justice League: Zack Snyder Finally Reveals Why He Signed Up To Finish The Snyder Cut
DCEU director lifts the lid on why he felt it was important to finish Justice League.
As most comic book movie fans will know, the Snyder Cut of Justice League is finally a reality and will be released in 2021 on HBO Max as a 4 hour miniseries. During a recent interview with Beyond the Trailer (via EpicStream), Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder admitted why he agreed to finish his cut of the movie:
"I feel like when I had, when this opportunity arrived and came to me, you know, I got this call and you know, um, Toby Emmerich called me to say 'Hey, is this thing you'd be interested in doing' and it was shocking frankly. I wasn't ready but I thought about it. One of the big things that got me to say 'all right' to this huge job, it's crazy, but it was that commitment I made to those actors about, like, let's finish this. Let me put it back. Let me honor what we talked about creating, you know?"
Zack Snyder's Justice League is going to be a crowded movie. Alongside Ray Porter's Darkseid, the reshoots will add Jared Leto's Joker (and maybe even show the death of Robin in a flashback), as well as Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke. A brand new trailer is expected to drop within the next few days.
Snyder has also recently implied that the's already got a vision in mind for a possible sequel and he'd like a shot at making a movie adaption of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, his favorite comic book ever.
If his original vision for Justice League proves to be a financial success for HBO Max, Warner may very well consider him for the future of the DC Universe on its platform. WhatCulture has listed 10 ways on how the franchise can continue after the Snyder Cut.
