Maleficent: 10 Other Disney Villains Who Deserve Their Own Movies

6. The Evil Queen - Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs

As the first animated Disney villain of the classic features, the Evil Queen set the template for many of the other antagonists on this list and has been extremely influential since her first appearance in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Jealous of her stepdaughters beauty, the Evil Queen works Snow White to the bone, but when her magic mirror continues to deny her the title of 'most fairest', the wicked villain sends a huntsman to destroy her. Recently, Universal Pictures released their own version of the classic tale which was based primarily on the original Brothers Grimm story. The script for Snow White and the Huntsman received mixed reviews, but one of its more successful aspects was the attempt to flesh out the back story of the Evil Queen, depicting her as an unfortunate victim of circumstance. Known as Ravenna in this version, the Evil Queen was the daughter of a sorceress whose home village was ravaged by invading forces. Her mother protected Ravenna by casting an enchantment that would prevent her from dying, but this process forced her into a vampiric existence, devouring the life force of young women to stay alive. This basic concept could be adapted by Disney for an origin movie, following the Evil Queen as she learns to master her magic and eventually take over the kingdom. In Snow White and the Huntsman, Ravenna is abducted by a cruel master as a child which would explain her primal need to survive, but this may be too dark for Disney and, of course, copyright issues would run rampant. You never know. Dream Casting: Idina Menzel Charlize Theron was flawless in Universal Pictures Snow White and the Huntsman, but for a new origin movie, Disney would need to cast a new actress in the role. It may seem like a somewhat obvious choice, but Idina Menzel would be perfect in terms of voice, talent and appearance, not to mention that Menzel is Disney's golden girl right now after the insane success of the Frozen soundtrack and her signature number Let It Go. The only issue here would be whether Menzel could take on another witch-like role without being compared unfavorably to her career defining performance in the Broadway show Wicked.
