Man Utd Transfers: 11 Signings Louis Van Gaal Must Make Immediately
8. Thomas Muller
Current Club: Bayern Munich A second current member of the Bayern Munich crop of players, and another who has recently been linked with a move to United, Muller is said to be frustrated with his lack of first team game time under Pep Guardiola, according to John Edwards of the Mail. Having been left on the bench for key games, including the tie against United in the Champions League, the Bavarian born player could now look to move away from the club for the first time in his career for more first team opportunities. With Van Gaal now heading to United, Muller might well see the opportunity of coming to England a greater one, considering how important the Dutchman was in helping him to blossom as a player. It was Van Gaal who gave Muller his first opportunities in the first team, and without his influence, he might not have become the player he is now. Muller's appeal lies in his versatility: he can play anywhere across midfield or upfront, and his intellect on the ball is extremely obvious, particularly in finding space and linking play, and he is more than capable of adding the goals from midfield that United will need to chase down the other League challengers next year.
